Hi, my name is Brock McGoff, and I love wrist watches (here’s my current watch collection).
When I first got into watches, I didn’t know anything about sizing. I didn’t even know that I had relatively small wrists at 6.25″ around.
I just wore whatever 40mm fashion watch I thought look cool. Little did I know that a 38, 36 or even 34mm would look and feel much more balanced on my wrist.
These days, I’d never wear anything over 38mm in diameter. I also pay attention to the lug to lug distance and overall case thickness.
I see so many guys wearing watches that don’t really fit their wrist, and I get a lot of questions from guys who are about to buy a new watch:
I have __ inch wrists. Do you think __ is a good watch for me?
Are my wrists smaller than average?
Can I wear this 42mm watch?
Is there anything I can do make my wrists bigger?
Is [insert watch model] too small for my wrist?
These are all valid questions, and I created this site to answer them is the most concise possible way.
If nothing else, I hope the Watch Size Calculator will help you quickly determine what size watches you should buy (and what to avoid).
If you enjoy this site and find it helpful, please feel free to share it on social media, email it to a friend, or just tell someone about it IRL.
Many thanks for stopping by and reading this page. Take care, and no matter what watch you’re wearing, wear it well!
